A Hot Foil Print Studio

Morello Press is a UK-based hot foil print studio specialising in bespoke wedding stationery and small-run print commissions.
Every piece is designed and printed in-house using traditional foil press equipment and considered materials.

The Press

At the centre of the studio is a antique press known as Cherry.

She’s named after Amy Winehouse’s guitar and for her bright red enamel frame, which holds its colour with quiet confidence. The name felt fitting: strong, distinctive and unmistakable.

Cherry is operated sheet by sheet, using heat and pressure to press foil into the surface of the paper. This slower, mechanical process allows close control over alignment, impression and finish.

She requires rhythm, timing and attention.

It is not automated. It is deliberate print.

Printed In-House

Design and production remain closely connected within the studio.

Each project is prepared for print with precision, then produced on the press under direct control. Alignment, pressure and registration are adjusted by hand, sheet by sheet, until the result is perfect.

Working this way allows decisions to be made in the moment. Impression can be refined, spacing corrected and consistency maintained across an entire run.

It is a slower, mechanical process. That pace is intentional.

Production remains intentionally limited so that time and attention are never compromised.

About

Morello Press is led by Steph, a designer with over twenty years of experience in design and twelve years working within the wedding industry.

Her background spans layout, illustration and print-led projects, with a consistent focus on typography, proportion and material.

Two decades in design and over a decade in weddings taught me that clarity, calm and structure are what couples need most.

Based in Hertfordshire and working from her studio press daily, she continues to practise traditional print not out of nostalgia, but because the standard it produces still matters.

The studio operates with a preference for depth over volume. Fewer projects, developed carefully.

"Print still matters, because touch, presence and intention can’t be replicated digitally."
